Hall Farm Wetton

Our Story

A little bit about Emily & Tom

We met at Nottingham University whilst training to become Geography teachers. Prior to this we had qualified with Geography and Environmental Science degrees, and in our teaching careers have both enjoyed applying our knowledge and understanding to help inspire children of all ages to appreciate and care for our planet.

We married in 2014 and have since been blessed with two wonderful daughters, Libby and Jess (not to mention our beloved and loyal whippet, Twiggy). We have both lived in Derbyshire all our lives and are lucky to have our treasured families close by. We love walking and the countryside, and have both spent many happy days enjoying the delights of the Peak District.

Life took a turn following a "love at first sight" moment upon viewing Hall Farm, and a long term dream became reality in September 2019 when we moved in to our new family home and took over the holiday cottages.

As a young family, passionate about the local community and environment, we are dedicated to making our cottage stays affordable, family-friendly and as environmentally sustainable as we possibly can. Welcoming guests is extremely rewarding and we take great pride in maintaining high standards of hospitality throughout peoples' stays.

In the 18 months since we took over at Hall Farm we have used the time afforded to us by the coronavirus pandemic to make our site even more family friendly. We have fully renovated our play barn (games room), added in an outside play area, a wendy house and a traversing wall. We've also added a barbecue area along with some outdoor seating which can be enjoyed by our guests in spring and summer. Our cottages have been given a nurse lease of life following work to put new kitchens and floors in Manifold and Thor's. A fresh lick of paint all round and some new furniture has given the cottages a new lease of life. The addition of our resident hens, for the freshest of fresh eggs, has been enjoyed by guests, young and old.

We are beyond grateful to all those that have helped us get this far, and look forward to growing our little business further.
