Hall Farm Wetton is ideally situated for visitors to
take advantage of all the main attractions of the Peak District National
Park.
Hall Farm is close to some of the best scenery on England,
with the
Manifold Valley,
Dovedale and Wolfscote Dale within walking distance. These are
some of the most spectacular limestone dales of the Peak District and offer
excellent walking, fishing and bird watching.
Within easy reach are the towns of
Buxton
(with its Opera
House and annual Festival),
Bakewell (with a weekly livestock market),
Matlock (which has a range of visitor attractions, including a
theme park) and
Ashbourne (which has an outdoor market twice weekly).
If you are interested in history or stately homes then you
will want to visit
Chatsworth House,
Haddon
Hall, Sudbury,
Eyam (the
Plague Village) and
Eyam
Hall. All these are within easy reach.
If you are keen on outdoor activities then Hall Farm is
just the place! There are numerous
walks
from the door, and many more within a short drive by car.
Cycling is also a popular activity, with several cycle tracks
on former railways. One of these, the Manifold Trail, runs very close to Hall
Farm. Another, the Tissington Trail, is only a few miles away.
Rock
Climbing is also a popular activity in the Peak District. There are
numerous excellent climbs in the Manifold and Dove valleys, and many thousands
more to choose from a little further afield.
Or you might just want to wander through some of the
enchanting villages which are dotted about the Peak District, such as
Hartington, with its cheese factory.
Also easily reachable by car are other attractions such as
The Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, and the famous theme park at
Alton Towers.
